Who are we?
Plain and simple – We’re a couple in the Pacific Northwest who loves to eat. We’ll never turn down a good slice of pizza or a bubbling, perfectly crusted gooey mac & cheese (with bacon of course). While we enjoy cooking together (one more than the other), we’re also some lazy individuals who like to enjoy other people’s delicious masterpieces.
One night, while out at dinner, we noticed that we talked about each dish placed on the table in great detail. We talked about the taste, use of spices, consistency, texture and more. As we left the restaurant, we discussed the pros and cons of the whole experience – how much we liked the decor, how exceptional the service was, the general ambiance of the restaurant, etc. As we went out to eat more and more, we started to realize we liked discussing our dining experiences. So we thought why not start a blog and a food journal of sorts? A collection of reviews and posts that take us back to that one really good pasta dish we had or that one irresistible deconstructed birthday cake.
So that’s why we’re here. Neither of us have any professional experience in the culinary arts or critiquing food for a living. We just really like food and writing and combined those two hobbies into this blog. Everyone has their own palette, and we hope you enjoy reading about ours.

Born and raised in Seattle (well, technically Bellevue but it’s just one floating bridge away), I’m always down to try a new restaurant or bar in the neighborhood and probably look at Eater at least 5 times a week. I would eat pasta every day if I could and probably follow it up with a nice large bowl of homemade pho. Watching food documentaries like Chef’s Table and Ugly Delicious makes my Netflix subscription worth paying. Seattle is becoming a food destination more and more every day, and I’m happy to be celebrating this by eating as much tasty food as I can.

In West Philadelphia born and raised, eating potato chips is what I did on most of my days. Piggin’ out, snackin’, munchin’ all cool… Pretty much as close to a theme song that could come to describing my life. Born in Philadelphia, growing up in Vermont, and finally settled in Seattle, you can usually find me enjoying a good steak, potato chips or a plate of prosciutto and muenster cheese. I like taking a scientific approach to my cooking, whether that’s testing different spices in marinades or finding out the full potential of my sous vide machine. I admire chefs who do the same – whether that’s a chef who plays with the texture of a dish or uses a smoker in an unexpected way. While I’m not the biggest fan of seafood, I like being in a city that has such easy access to local ingredients like fresh fish, vegetables and more. Give me a cold Imperial Red or IPA and a delicious cut of red meat and I’m a happy camper.
